Global Development Committee
The Global Development Committee is charged with elevating association members’ and fresh produce and floral industries’ presence worldwide. Their focus includes recommending a value proposition and strategy for members, identifying opportunities for a global voice and advocacy, and identifying future markets of opportunity for the association.
United States Council Standing Committees & Working Groups
The IFPA United States (U.S.) Council works to advance the strategic direction of the association by addressing the unique needs and issues of the U.S., market’s agricultural supply chain from production to consumers, with advocacy being a key priority of the Council’s remit.
Standing Committees will focus on cross-supply chain advocacy subjects that require a unified approach to influence and reinforce the advocacy and strategic direction for the association. Within this structure, the Committees will form working groups on an as needed basis to respond to critical cross-policy issues and opportunities facing the U.S. market:
- U.S. Policy Committee: This Committee actively engages on matters of public policy impacting the U.S. market. It will advise and make recommendations regarding U.S. focused policy priorities and actions. This committee may also drive engagement on key legislative and regulatory issues affecting the U.S. produce and floral sector.
- Workforce & Business Policy Working Group
- Nutrition & Health Policy Working Group
- Production & Environmental Policy Working Group
- U.S. Grassroots & Engagement Committee: This Committee will actively support the effectiveness of the association’s grassroots, grassTOPs and member advocacy efforts. The committee also will identify and cultivates political engagement within the produce and floral industry, including advising and helping IFPA staff to deliver meaningful industry advocacy in action engagement opportunities
- GrassTOPs Fresh Ambassador Network (FANs)
- FreshPAC Board of Directors: The FreshPAC Board of Director is responsible for guiding the PAC’s strategic direction, governance, and operational policies, including decisions on fundraising, expenditures, and candidate support, all in alignment with IFPA’s advocacy priorities.
Policy & Technical Groups

Food Safety Council
The Food Safety Council represents the strongest technical resource to the fresh produce industry, providing input on all significant issues affecting the industry, such as food safety, quality, microbiology, research, education, audit standards and practices, and regulation. Its goal is to drive the resources and best practices needed to bring the safest, high-quality produce most efficiently to end consumers.
Organics Committee
The Organics Committee focuses on all aspects of organic production, marketing, and policy, working to provide clear, accurate information to policy, regulatory and industry stakeholders regarding organic produce production, distribution, and merchandising. This includes engagement with the USDA National Organic Program (NOP), National Organic Standards Board (NOSB), and Congress on all new regulatory requirements or policy decisions. The committee’s goal is to lead the fresh produce industry’s voice in policy & regulatory conversations about organics, and in doing so, support the growth of the organic produce industry through increased accessibility to all consumers.
Product Identification Committee
The Product Identification Committee facilitates the development and use of global product identification standards for use within the global produce industry. The Committee Identifies and addresses supply chain efficiencies issues with product identification and work to develop best practices and guidelines for the industry.
Supply Chain Council
The Supply Chain Council examines critical issues affecting the movement of products throughout the fresh supply chain, including data exchange, supply chain data standards, product identification standards, cold chain management as well as transportation and logistics. Its goal to identify challenges and opportunities in this area, and to help develop solutions and programs supporting the broader membership.
Sustainability Council
The Sustainability Council examines critical issues in the produce and floral sustainability landscape, including water, energy, asset management, packaging and social responsibility. Its goal is to drive programs and resources to enable members to understand the potential impact of these issues on their organizations and prioritize and plan for these issues in their business planning.
Community Groups
Champion a vibrant, people-first industry by creating spaces that foster connection, talent development, and inclusive experiences. Put individuals at the center to ensure every member finds value, support, and opportunity.
Market Sector Issues Forums
Market Sector Issue Forums are opportunities for members with shared topical interests to engage with peers in their market sector, as well as across market sectors, including, but not limited to Grower-Shippers, Fresh-Cut Processors, Wholesaler-Distributors, Retail, Foodservice and Floral. Members with interests in these sectors are also welcome to participate.
The goal will be to provide perspectives to inform the work of the association in alignment with its strategic pillars of worldwide advocacy, personalized member experience and future proofing the industry.
Floral Executive Leadership Council
The Floral Executive Leadership Council advises IFPA on strategic initiatives and priorities facing the IFPA floral community in support of IFPA’s strategic efforts to develop worldwide influence, personalized member experience, and future proofing the industry. The recommendations from the Council will guide IFPA’s Director of Floral and broader IFPA staff, as well as the IFPA Floral Committee, to support industry leadership, member engagement, and association execution.

Connect with University Students at Industry Events
Your past and present can shape a young person’s future. IFPA’s Career Pathways programs are designed to attract university students to a career in fresh produce and floral. “Career Ambassadors” serve as industry mentors to students attending one of three in-person industry events (IFPA Foodservice Conference, IFPA Global Produce & Floral Show) or virtually to those who have completed the online Career Pathways Certificate Program.
